FAQ for the 928 Model A Phaeton Offered for Raffle

How many Tickets will be sold?
There will be 400 $50 raffle tickets offered for sale.
When will the drawing be held?
The drawing will be held once 400 tickets are sold or on December 7, 2026, whichever comes first.
Where does the money go from the raffle?
100% of the funds raised in this raffle will be applied to Queen City Model A Club's (QCMAC) project to build a Youth Learning Center with the objective of bringing more youth into the Model A Hobby. QCMAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations to this project may also be made.
If I win, how do I get the car?
The buyer will be responsible for pick up and delivery from Rock Hill, SC.
Can you give me more details about the car?
The car has a North Carolina title. The VIN number on title is A232994791 which matches the engine number in the car. Records show that this engine was produced November 12, 1929 which would say that the engine in the car is a 1929, not 1928. This particular car was produced for the Argentinean market as a right hand drive. At some time during its life, it was converted to a left hand drive. Some of the original firewall openings were not closed. The exhaust manifold has Argentina cast into the face. The car is from a collection of a former Queen City Model A Club (QCMAC) member and was kept in storage. It is not known how long the car sat in storage but it is likely that it was in the range of 15 years.
Does the car run and drive?
Absolutely. Once removed from storage and before attempting to start and drive the car, the oil pan was removed and cleaned before filling with fresh oil. The ignition was re-wired to the original 6 volt, positive ground and a new battery was installed. The gas tank was drained and washed with lacquer thinner. The front and rear motor mounts were replaced. Compression was checked with all cylinders showing 50-60 psi. A rebuilt carburetor and distributor were installed. Water was added to the radiator and the engine started promptly on the first attempt.Fluid levels for the transmission and rear end were checked before a successful first drive.
Is the car fully restored?
It is not. Storage grime has been cleaned to make the car more presentable but this is not a restored Model A. The body panels seem very solid and no evidence of rust or filler was uncovered during cleaning. While the raffle winner will undoubtedly wish to perform some restoration measures, our work has brought the car to the stage where we are confident of it being a drivable example of a desirable model of Henry Ford's Model A.
Does the car come with a warranty?
It does not. There is no warranty with the car explicit or implied.
